I am proud to be named the Chief of Police of the Fort Lee Police Department after serving 33 years as a police officer, detective, and a supervisor. I’ve lived in Fort Lee my entire life, graduated from Fort Lee High School  in 1965, served in the United States Navy in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968 and received my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State College. Along with my wife of 26 years, Nancy, we stayed in Fort Lee to raise our three children. I’ve seen the town grow to the diverse community that it is today and I plan to develop a close relationship between the police department and the various civic organizations within our community. I welcome all local civic groups and social organizations to contact our Community Policing Division for information regarding crime prevention speeches and security surveys. I intend to work closely with our Traffic Division and the governing body to find ways to alleviate the ever-increasing traffic that travels on our roadways, so that our resident’s quality of life is not further interrupted.
In this era of Homeland Security, Fort Lee’s proximity to the New York City and being the host town to the George Washington Bridge, it is important that we maintain a close working relationship with the State, County and Port Authority Police. Together with administrators, supervisors, detectives, and patrolmen, the Fort Lee Police Department has more than enough experience to handle any situation that it may encounter. I feel that the professionalism of the men and women of this agency will act as a valuable tool, in order to make my leadership more effective. I am proud to serve the Borough of Fort Lee and I find my promotion to Police Chief to be a humbling experience. I look forward to serving the community that has given so much to myself and family as well.
